My roots are in Western Canada. I spent the first 20 years on the Prairies, small town Manitoba, growing up a figure skater in the winter and a softball player in summer. A family of teachers and farmers. – a good foundation. My first ‘contract’ was at the age of 6 when my Mother made me a deal .’You pick enough strawberries to earn half of the two wheeler you want and I will match it!’ I was committed and the day I earned my half, never picked another berry!
The next 20 was in the mountains of Western Canada – where I did all my growing up in the Insurance Business, got my designations, served the industry trade organizations locally and nationally and found my niche in the support and development of independent advisors.
During this last 20, I traded the Rocky Mountains for the Gulf of Mexico! I made the professional transition to the US marketplace, learning all things American and unlearning all things Canadian. While there are some significant differences, what I know between 3 cities and a couple of countries is this:
Life insurance and its related products are the foundation of every well-built financial plan. At its core, Its nothing more than a bag of money that shows up at the worst time in a family’s life. I have been witness to situations where the planning was in place and where it wasn’t – the difference is dramatic!

If you had an extra hour to yourself in the morning, how would you spend it?.
Learning to take an hour for me…to exercise, to meditate, to play with the dogs….would help obtain that balance we all seek.
What’s the most likely place people could find you on a Saturday night?
Often, its at the beach officiating a wedding! There is no better place to be when people are happiest, best dressed on their best behaviour and ready to celebrate! Getting a word with the Parents/Grandparents after is a real treat! They are so joyful, proud and have great perspective!!
Which would you pick: Living on the beach or living near the mountains?
I have done both and for me its seasonal!! Mountains in the Summer and Fall, Beaches in the Winter and Spring!

Enough…
1/… sun to keep my attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear… enough rain to appreciate the sun even more…
2/…happiness to keep my spirit alive… enough pain so that even the smallest joys in life may appear bigger…
3/ gain to satisfy wanting… enough loss to appreciate all you possess…
